#RT2N Day 6
Today was relax day. I got a hotel room last night which means I received a warm breakfast, a stiff bed and real bathroom.
The day was kind of crappy, so I took some time to explore downtown instead of hiking
Downtown Denver
The first thing I did when I got there was leave, I drove out of town and found a free park and ride and took their regional light rail into town for $5 (all day). After arriving in downtown, I checked out the 16th St Mall. A beautiful pedestrian focused set, with free buses, the light rail, and heavy cop presence pianos in the middle of the street and literally not a single alley way without art on it. They had bikes share, rentable mopeds, and electric scooters. Literally this was one of the most pedestrian focused cities I have ever been too.
Today was also the day of comic con and pride fest in Denver, so it was probably the most colorful city I have been in. Eventual everything quitted down and I headed to LoDo and found a nice quaint coffee shop to enjoy.
Downtown Boulder
I checked out pearl set mall, their pedestrian friendly mall. I must say it was no where near the scale of Denver’s, but Denver honestly felt a little to big for me. It had all the great things I liked, but I just didn’t feel at home. I also got to check out their campus, which must be one of the prettiest campuses I have ever been too.
Way into Estes Park, found a florist that looks like they went out of business last summer as they had an aged going out of business sign out front. The funny part was there was a brand new sign on the mediocre building labeled Cannibis Co. I wonder if it was new owners… It was also across the street from a goat yoga place, so that’s neat.
Finally, my tent site in estes is absouletly beautiful. I got te highest ground on the campsite and im separated from everyone else. I can see all of the mountains and the lake by me and have no one to bother me. Wifi, electricity. I mean it is rainging non stop, but hey, people spend $$ to have these rain tracks to fall asleep too, I just get it for free from nature! 😊
