#RT2N Day 5
Recovery day. Wow does it feel great, this time I decided to DRIVE up Mt. Evans, another 14er in Colorado, which was probably my best decision so far. The highway is a little longer than pikes peak, and the elevation gain is a little less, so I was confident my sick ford 500 hundred could make the trip up and down.
Mt Evans was beautiful, although packed. The weather yet again turned from great to pout quickly, but honestly, I don’t mind. Colorado has had a bad draught so far this year, as I can confirm by my hourly bloody noses, and I guess they only get 15 in of rainfall every year, so this is serious. So of course, the couple days I’m here to hike it rains, ow ell!
Anyways since its my day off I decided to go visit Golden, Co and take the coveted Coors tour. I have to say golden is cool. I enjoyed my time there. I liked the idea of the Coors tour, but overall it felt lack luster, but hey maybe that’s the inner beer hipster from Milwaukee speaking. You here about this massive facility they have, and they are the largest one stop shop for brewing in the world, yet you go on this extremely narrow tour. All I’m saying is that it would have been freaking awesome to see some more of the plant. Not just a couple little windows. Anyways… I had the best Coors Light I have ever had here, I think this is the one thing I’m going to miss about working at a brewery. The fact that you can get the freshest beer available, now a day I can barely drink beer if it doesn’t come directly from the source.
I happen to meet some other Wisconsinites and others that were interning for dish network. We finished the brewery tour, hit up a local dive bar, and got some pizza, overall fucking fun.
This is also the first night I spent in a hotel. What a rip off. It has costs more then all my camping sites combined, and everything fucking sucked, from the reception to the breakfast to the room, to the security, I feel like the list keeps going.
