#RT2N Day 1
Ah, Day 1. It of course started on the right foot, not. Every time I travel I like to bring my AE-1 Canon film camera. Something about shooting on film feels so much more special. All fo the images come out a little soft, you must spend more time to ensure your horizon is level, and that your aperture is correct. There is so much more little effort and decisions to ace o the spot, rather than later in post. Anyways, I Amazon’s some film for my cameras that were supposed to arrive the day I was leaving. I looked at previous deliveries and all of them were delivered before 9am. So, I decided to risk it and wait until the film was delivered before leaving. I packed in the morning, grabbed some groceries, and then waited.
and waited.
and waited….
12:15pm
By noon I had given up. I got in the arc and started driving towards St. Louis. I made stops at multiple Walgreens and Walmart’s trying to find film, and I did. Expected it was twice the price for less film. I’m now running hours behind, so I just given in and purchase the film.
I continue driving to St. Louis listening to Cortex. By the time I make it there it is 6pm and I meet my friend, Will, and convinced him to go do touristy things with me. First, we went to the old Union station, which has been converted to a very nice hotel. Wow was it beautiful, then we went to Laundries. Laundries was less then impressive, it was the most expensive food I had on the entire trip and it wasn’t anything to write home about. The service was awful and pushy, it felt like I was trying to purchase a car and the salesperson was trying to push me to get all the accessories.
But hey, here are some cool clips from our visit!
